With Halloween fast approaching, it means the rest of the holidays are not far behind. Usually I am not a huge fan of doing anything winter holiday related until the Thanksgiving leftovers have been finally eaten. This year however we were given an opportunity by Christmas Eve Trees, a national company, which specializes in holidays décor, to review their table top trees before the holiday season. We liked the idea so much we are sharing it with you now!
Usually I am old fashioned and prefer to have a real tree in my home having grown up with that tradition.... there is just something about the smell of a fresh tree that helps me get in the holiday spirit. The last few years though we haven't had a real tree and have had the often popular fake no mess trees (very cool trees and less mess). Upon receiving the Table Top Tree, I was talking with a fellow mom and friend of mine and she suggested that these would be great to use as a KID TREE!!!!
What a fantastic idea that was! <Major shout out to my creative and quick thinking friend Lauren!!!> Last year I had allowed my toddler to decorate the bottom of the tree, but how special would it be for him to have his own little tree. It's just perfect for all those school ornaments, handmade ornaments, the beads and popcorn the kids always make and more! It also makes for a great exercise in creative design as they can take ownership of their own idea. And never fear-if it falls over, it's not that big of a deal! As you can see this was a popular idea with the small people, and anything that can captivate their attention for more than 20 mins. is a winner in my book. The kids will love this. They can decorate, take it down and do it over again! This year will definitely be extra special in our home as we encourage the magic and creativity of the holidays to bloom in the most imaginative of us. If you get a chance, check out Christmas Eve Trees and get one too!
Have you tried this? How do you usually display all the kid ornaments?
