With the Cape Cod Parent Resource Fair rapidly approaching we will be sharing blog posts on our participating sponsors, vendors and nonprofits. You will find out more about these amazing businesses and what they offer to our community. They will be sharing their services, advice, what challenges face our community as well as upcoming events they will be having. Make sure to check out our virtual program and resource guide ahead of the event so you can plan for what you want to see! Childcare is available as well for use during speaker panels. If you preregister for the speakers or childcare you will earn extra raffle tickets-just email us and you will receive tickets at the door! We hope to see you at the Resource Fair!
I am a Local Childcare Consultant, a cultural care representative who lives in the community and provides on-the-ground support to area families and au pairs. I help families considering childcare determine if Cultural Care Au Pair is the right fit for them.
2. Where is it located?
Cultural Care Au Pair sends au pairs to host families all over the country and provides services to all of cape cod. As an LCC I provide support to all host families and au pairs living on the upper cape while a fellow LCC services the lower cape.
3. What is your favorite thing about our community?
I love how family oriented and supportive this community is of each other. There are always things to do as a family in the area and on several occasions I’ve seen the community come together in times of need.
4. How else do you get involved with the community?
While I support families in our program on a regular basis I personally enjoy being out in the community with my own family attending events, school functions and enjoying what our community has to offer.
5. What do you think are the biggest challenges facing parents in our community?
I think one challenge for parents in our community is finding affordable and available childcare.
6. What is your favorite memory or story over the years involving you and your business?
I always enjoy meeting our new host families and au pairs and learning about all of the different cultures. It is very rewarding when au pairs connect with each other and become life long friends and supportive of one another when they are so far from home. I also love hearing about and being a part of all of the successes that host families and au pairs have together. Our au pairs become a part of their host families lives and we often see them keeping in touch and visiting each other when their year or two is up and they have returned to their home country.
7. What advice would you give parents and caregivers in our community?
Get out and about in the community! There are so many fun groups and great family resources offered. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or attend that first group if you are new to the area. It takes a village!
8. Do you have any specials, events, or anything else taking place this upcoming year that our parents should know about?
Aside from our monthly au pair outings and host family events for current au pairs and host families there are no specific events scheduled at this time. I am always available answer questions anyone has about our program.
