Okay, so the holidays have gone by, the tree is down, the lights are off the houses and the goodies are FINALLY at a halt! So, where has all this left your body? Are you bloated and noticing your pants are a little tighter than they were before Thanksgiving? Don’t worry! You can JUMP START your metabolism and get your body back into fat burning mode no problem! I teach people how to stabilize their blood sugar by eating in 3’s. Eating every 3 hours, a balance of the 3 macronutrients, protein, fat and carbohydrates. This could maintain your weight during the holidays and avoid the holiday weight gain, but don’t worry, you can Spring Ahead and shed up to 10 lbs in 10 days! How? Not with a “magic pill” or “miracle”, just continuing to eat in 3’s, but eliminating a few things from your diet. For 10 days you can eliminate dairy, soy, gluten and decrease your sodium intake. These ingredients found in many foods can work against your metabolism and slow down the fat burning. You don’t need to keep them out of your diet forever but limiting them after JUMP START will increase your muscle production and in turn, burn fat! Eating clean for 10 days you can ignite your metabolism!
Have you been stuck at the same weight for weeks and seem unable to shake the scale? That is called a plateau. They can be very frustrating, but CAN be broken! Are you in need of more energy? What happens when you own a beautiful sports car? You don’t let it just sit around, you drive it safely and carefully, you clean it and take care of it. You wouldn’t put the cheap gas in it or skip oil changes and tune-ups. You wouldn’t dare take it to a sketchy mechanic for a “quick fix”, a car like that deserves the best and will need quality work which will take the right mechanic a good amount of time to make sure it is done right. You would ensure it receives the best! Your body should be considered the same. Every day you get up, you rev your engine to get it going for the busy day ahead. Busy day of kids, meetings, doctor appointments, work, school and if there is enough time, you will push it even harder and get to the gym. What would happen if you failed to eat highly nutritious foods and instead you consume overly processed, nutrient deficient and sodium packed foods? You will feel bloated, sluggish, and cranky, eventually you would stall out and not perform to your best ability. Like a sports car needs high quality fuel to run smooth, a body in motion needs high quality fuel as well. If you woke up and within an hour had a breakfast of high quality protein, fats and carbohydrates, you would start your engine with the highest quality fuel! You maintain the engine (your body), by eating every 3 hours, the same high quality foods and ratios. You will handle the roads (life) better, avoid more potholes (stress) and be able to recharge your battery (brain) while you sleep better, and get ready to hit the road again the next day. It’s a simple theory of good in equals good out! Take the time to invest into your body as you would a $50,000 car that you had dreamt of owning your whole life. Taking care of your body will add miles to your life. There is no quick fix, magic pill or latest craze to lose weight and get healthy. It takes hard work, dedication and the right tools. You CAN take your body to the next level, JUMP START your body’s metabolism and enjoy the ride!
