Celebrating family and friends, being able to get together, and planning a big meal are all hallmarks of traditional holidays. Every once in a while though, it is nice to get a small break, to take some pressure off, and let someone else take something off of your (Thanksgiving) plate. Below are some ideas to eat in or take out for Thanksgiving dinner on Cape Cod.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Pelham House :: Dennis Port

With reservations required, Pelham House hosts Thanksgiving dinner with one of the most beautiful views of Nantucket Sound on Cape Cod. Their event includes a festive cocktail hour in their rooftop restaurant with sushi and a raw bar and continues with an expansive buffet on their sea level ballroom. Once the tryptophan hits, you can cozy up with your loved ones by their gas firepits steps away from their ballroom.

Old Yarmouth Inn :: Yarmouth Port

Established in the 1600’s, the Old Yarmouth Inn offers a modern twist on classic American-Cape Cod food inside of their beautiful, historic walls. Enjoying their extensive Thanksgiving dinner requires reservations, but also includes a Thanksgiving take on a children’s menu! A very family friendly venue for this family-oriented event.

Yarmouth House :: West Yarmouth

A favorite for our family because there’s always something for everyone: Yarmouth House will host you and loved ones for a three-course dinner starting anytime after noon on Thanksgiving. They bring the holidays to whole new level with their decorations, which my daughter always love walking around to restaurant to see.

Pates :: Chatham

Pates, named after the original owners, has been a Chatham institution since the 1950’s. Despite its age, make no mistake, their food is modern, fresh, and features lots of options for both seafood and meat. They’re open 1-7pm on Thanksgiving Day but recommend calling for reservations ahead of time – which fills up fast!

Chatham Bars Inn :: Chatham

If you want it all, the Chatham Bars Inn has it! Dine at either their “Grand Buffet” in the STARS restaurant or have a more casual meal at their Sacred Cod Tavern. Or are you looking to have a great meal in the comforts of your own home? Chatham Bars Inn also does Turkey To-Go meals – complete Thanksgiving dinner for 6-8 people. If you happen to be in the area the day before, the Chatham Bars Inn is hosting family activities that includes arts, crats, and lawn games.

Underground Bakery :: Dennis Village

Known for delicious baked goods and homemade soups like their Avgolemono, a Greek lemon chicken soup that will make you feel all cozy, you can also call Underground Bakery to pre-order your Thanksgiving dinner. Pick it up the day before or even by noon on Thanksgiving Day so that all you need to do is reheat and enjoy.

Family Table Collaborative :: South Yarmouth

Known for their nutritious and locally-sourced grab and go meals, the non-profit Family Table Collaborative, is hosting a Pay What You Can Thanksgiving Dinner buffet with one seating at noon. The Family Table Collaborative lives up to its name in every way: they feed a wide range of individuals and families with varying financial needs – or no financial needs – meals both you and your kids will love that just happen to be good for them!
