Since last year's Cape Cod Fireworks post was so POPULAR and we have gotten so many emails from families wanting to know when the 2014 list would be out we have decided to take on the task again. Below we have compiled a listing of all the fireworks, parades and other celebrations taking place across Cape Cod & the Islands. If you know of a local event on Cape Cod, the Islands or any of the surrounding areas, that we have forgotten to include, then please use our form at the bottom of this post and we are happy to add it! 4th of July Parades![]() FYI: PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME EVENTS HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED OR CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER! West Barnstable - The parade will start at 9 a.m. from the County Complex on Railroad Avenue, proceed down Main Street, turn left onto Mill Way and end at the Village Hollow. we believe this MIGHT be CANCELLED Bourne - Beginning at 10 a.m., along Main Street in Buzzards Bay Brewster -Fourth of July Fine Art and Craft Show, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Drummer Boy Park, Main Street, Brewster. A broad collection of art including hand made goods. Cotuit -Decorating 9:30-10:30am and then at 11am the parade will start from the Post Office and proceed down School Street and up Main Street to the Waldorf School. Come celebrate Cotuit's 375 Anniversary and walk or ride with us. Bike and wagon decorating from 9:30am - 10:30am at the Waldorf School of Cape Cod at 140 Old Oyster Rd, Cotuit MA. 508-420-1005 Centerville - The village of Centerville's parade begins at 10 a.m. with a route that goes from the Centerville Elementary School, up Bay Lane, then right onto Bumps River Road, left onto Park Avenue, right onto Main Street, and continuing to the Centerville Recreation Building where it ends. CANCELLED Chatham - 9:30 a.m. Friday, Main Street; proceeds down Main Street from corner of Shore Road to Veterans Field. Strawberry shortcake festival, after parade, First United Methodist Church, 16 Cross St. 508-945-5199. Fourth of July Parade refreshment stand, 8 a.m. Friday, Main Street, Chatham. Coffee, donuts and cold drinks. Edgartown - Celebrate the Fourth of July with Edgartown’s traditional 4th of July parade & fireworks. Enjoy the traditional late afternoon parade then claim your seat on Memorial Wharf or any of the other harborfront locations for a resplendent display over the water. Display begins as darkness falls. Free and all are welcome. Edgartown has moved to July 5. Falmouth - 10 a.m. Beginning at the Village Green, down Main Street to Peg Noonan Park CANCELLED no reschedule. Falmouth - Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast & Games, 7 a.m. Friday, UUFF Meetinghouse, 840 Sandwich Road, East Falmouth. Visit from Uncle Sam and pancake games for children at 11 a.m. $7, $3 children 12 and under. 508-487-0449. Hyannis - Boat Parade in Hyannis harbor beginning at 1:15 p.m., then Main Street is the place to be at 4 p.m. for the Hyannis 4th of July street parade we believe this was CANCELLED Hyannisport - The village of Hyannisport holds their parade at 11 a.m., after the road race (road race begins at 9 a.m.) Nantucket - Nantucket Fourth of July town events, rescheduled to 9:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Main Street; including community sing-along, pie-eating contest and water fight between firefighters. www.nantucket-ma.gov/visitor. Orleans - Begins at 10 a.m. on Eldredge Park Way, goes along Rt. 6A, Main Street, Rt. 28 and back to Eldredge Park Plymouth - Theme for July 4 2014 Star Spangled Plymouth! July 4, 2014 – 9:30 am RESCHEDULED JULY 12 Begins at Mayflower Business Park 428-430 Court Street after Road Race. Road Race Info: 7:30am road race preceding parade sign up and race info at www.wickedawesomeproductions.com or www.southshoreracemgmt.com Provincetown - Starting at 11 a.m. at the Cape Inn, proceeding along Commercial Street CANCELLED Sandwich - At 10 a.m. the parade begins at the Wing School on Water Street, to Old Main Street, right on Beale Avenue, left on Morse Road, and finishing at the fields behind the Wing School. staging at Henry T. Wing School, 33 Water St.; proceeds down Water Street to Old Main Street, right on Beale Avenue, left on Morse Road, concluding at fields behind school. Also in Sandwich: Boat Parade-at Shawme Pond at 9pm. The Sandwich Boat Parade has been around since the late 1800's! The Boat Parade is comprised of small boats and canoes decorated in creative ways using paper lanterns illuminated by candles. The boats parade by the bandstand for all to see, and for the Recreation Department and Recreation Committee to select the evening's winners. Want to take part in the parade? Contact the Sandwich Recreation Department Wellfleet - 9am Parade of antique cars at Mayo Beach at 9:00 a.m., parade of floats begins at 10 a.m. from the Town Pier to the center of town and back. Woods Hole MLB Club Woods Hole Fourth of July Parade, noon Sunday, begins on School Street, proceeds down Water Street, over drawbridge, concluding at Waterfront Park. Cape Cod Independence Day Fireworks![]() July 4th Week FYI: PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME EVENTS HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED OR CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER! Mashpee, MA Date: July 1, 2014 Time: Dusk Place: Mashpee High School The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a whole evening of food, rides, games, music, and lots more. Orleans, MA Date: July 1, 2014 (Rain date July 2) rescheduled for July 6, 2014 Time: Dusk Place: Rock Harbor You can also see the Rock Harbor fireworks display from Cape Cod Bay beaches in Brewster and Eastham. They'll be off at a distance, but still fun to see. Edgartown - Date: July 4th, 2014 rescheduled for July 5, 2014 Time: Dusk Place: Edgartown Celebrate the Fourth of July with Edgartown’s traditional 4th of July parade & fireworks. Display begins as darkness falls. Free and all are welcome. Falmouth, MA rescheduled for July 6, 2014 Date: July 4, 2014 Time: Dusk Place: Falmouth Heights Beach Do you have a portable radio? Be sure to bring it with you, and tune to 92.7 FM to hear the music that accompanies the fireworks. Hyannis, MA Date: July 4, 2014 canceled. Rescheduled for August 30th! Time: Dusk Place: Lewis Bay The best viewing spots are the beaches around Hyannis Harbor. Pack a picnic basket for dinner and stake out your spot in late afternoon. Or have a bite to eat at a restaurant on Main Street or by the Harbor, then walk to the beach for the fireworks. (Don't forget your cover-up clothes. It gets chilly on the beach after sunset, even in July.) Nantucket, MA Date: July 4, 2014 rescheduled for July 5, 2014 Time: 9:00pm Place: Jetties Beach Fireworks are shot from a barge off of Jetties Beach. Public transportation to Jetties Beach leaves from outside the Whaling Museum on Broad Street for a minimal fee. Bring a blanket to sit on, the sand can be cool. Plymouth Fireworks Date: July 4, 2014 RAINDDATE JULY 12 Time: 9:00pm Place: Plymouth Waterfront Fireworks will begin @ 9:00-9:15PM depending on night sky on the Plymouth Waterfront! Provincetown, MA Date: July 4, 2014 rescheduled for July 5, 2014 Time: Dusk Place: Provincetown Harbor For a very special experience - watch the fireworks from onboard a ship in the Harbor. On July 4th, Dolphin Fleet offers whale watch plus fireworks cruises at 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., as well as a fireworks-only cruise at 8 p.m. These cruises are very popular, so reserve your spot early. (Dolphin Fleet: 1-800-826-9300) Onset, MA Date: July 5, 2014 rescheduled for July 5, 2014 Time: Dusk Place: Onset Beach & Bay The town of Onset is on the "mainland" side of the Cape Cod Canal, just over the bridge. It's an absolutely gorgeous little town, and well worth a visit! Other Cape Cod Fireworks Displays![]() Yarmouth, MA Yarmouth Summer Celebration Date: June 27, 2014 Time: 3pm until Dusk Place: Dennis-Yarmouth High School Insider's Tip: This year's Yarmouth Summer Celebration runs from June 21st through June 28th. Other events during the Celebration include sand sculpting contests, a kids' fishing derby, the Cape Cod Ice Cream Chill Off, "Kite Fun" at the beach, a youth sailing regatta, and a big beach barbecue. Grand finale to Yarmouth's week long event "Summer Celebration Kick-Off"! This fantastic fireworks show will be set to a musical score and even includes cartoons on the "big screen" at the D-Y Field prior to the start of the show. Cartoons start at 8:30, fireworks start at 9:15. This fireworks display is one of many celebratory events scheduled for the week of July 26 to August 3, 2014. Oak Bluffs, MA Date: Aug 22, 2014 Time: Dusk Dennis, MA Dennis Summerfest Celebration Date: 2014 date and details TBA Time: Dusk Place: West Dennis Beach Yarmouth, MA Yarmouth Seaside Festival Date: October 12, 2014 Time: Dusk Place: Seagull Beach, South Yarmouth The Seaside Festival is the "last hurrah" of the season in the town of Yarmouth. This popular annual Columbus Day weekend event features all sorts of activities including a road race, a huge crafts fair, canoe and kayak races, beach activities, a bonfire, a parade ... and the big fireworks display over Seagull Beach. Chatham, MA Ring in 2015 with the first big Cape Cod fireworks display of the New Year at Chatham's First Night celebration! Date: December 31, 2014 Time: Midnight Place: Oyster Pond As a special treat for the young 'uns (and any of us who can't manage to stay awake until midnight ;-) there's an early "low level" fireworks show at 6:30 p.m. Watch the early-evening display from the parking lots and fields at the Chatham Community Center.
