Each year since 2012 we have been lucky enough to be granted admission to King Richard's realm as guests for his annual faire as well as offer giveaways and a discount to our fans & readers. We’ve had such great times while attending. Some of our favorite parts of the Faire are seeing the Prince & Princess Contest and the joust, eating turkey legs, attending the fabulous music and shows and much more. We love visiting the vendors as well and in prior years have purchased a piece for our outfit to attend in! Each year we find something fantastic and something new! So I sat down with my three and five year old kids and made a bucket list for the rest of the summer. We left the house on Saturday at 6am and returned on Monday at around 4pm. On our trip we went to The Crayola Experience, Iron Hill Brewery, Dutch Wonderland, Commonwealth on Queen, a Wedding at The Farm at Eagles Ridge and were suppose to go to Sesame Place but ran out of energy. The two nights we spent at an airbnb in Lancaster, PA. Crayola Experience Easton, PA I was provide 4 complimentary tickets to an unbiased review. We arrive at The Crayola Experience at around 11am on Saturday. There is a parking lot close by on Pine St (I think is the name of the street) for $5. The line to get/pick up tickets was short (3+ tickets are Regular Price-$19.99 Online Price-$16.99) but in the future I would get there right at 10am when they open. The first floor is the admissions, gift shop, cafe and the world’s largest crayon. So we started on the second floor and skipped the film on how crayons are made (we have seen the Mr. Rogers video). Included with each person's admission is a plastic page to put your creations in and two tokens. The tokens can be used to design your own crayon label (you choose name and symbol plus the color name and date is included on the label) there are five different machines each with a different crayon color the tokens can also be used to get model magic to be used in at Modeling Madness were sculpture suggestions to make can be found (more tokens can be purchased for $.50 a piece). My three and five year olds loved making the crayon labels and would have done more if we had bought them more tokens. Also found on the second color are crayon coloring stations, a photo booth to make a coloring sheet with a picture of you on it, stations to project and make your art work dance, and additional fee craft area to make premuim crafts which we skipped (also a toddler indoor playground). The big kid playground is on the third floor which is where we headed next. The indoor playground has chalk to be used on the ground and dry erase markers to color on white animal sculptures. The climbing structure itself is relatively small but my kids enjoyed it and it was a great way to burn off some energy before the rest of the drive. Around the structure are different stations at one you can create your own puzzle and cut it in the puzzle machine, another make your own superhero mask and belt as well as painting station. I really enjoyed using brand new “juicy” markers to create my own puzzle. Also on the third floor is a huge water table that you can use waves to move a boat down (we skipped it because there was a line) and a doodle in the dark room. The fourth floor is all about melting crayons and was the biggest hit. There are three activities painting with melted crayon which was fun and easy, spin art with melted crayon which we waited in a short line for and my kids favorite making new crayon shapes by melting crayons. There was a long line to do Melt and Mold crayons you got to choose one crayon color and whether you wanted to make a ring, a dinosaur or an animated crayon. When it our turn we insert the crayon into the machine and watch the crayon melt and drip into the mold then cool the whole process takes 4 minutes. If you want to make another one you have to get back in line. Next time I would start on the fourth floor before it got busy so the kids could mold lots of crayons and then work our way down. I would definitely visit The Crayola Experience again and allow more than three hours for the visit!  Dutch Wonderland Lancaster, PAI was given four tickets to Dutch Wonderland in exchanged for an unbiased review. As we pulled in I saw a huge parking lot and was not prepared to pay for parking but it turned out it was $5 for regular parking and $15 for premier (you get to park closer) so I paid $5 to park. As you enter through the castle they check your bags and you go by the gift shop (no outside food is allowed). We started by riding the Sky Ride to the opposite side of the park which was a nice way to start. There we rode the Double Splash Flume, Gondola Cruise, Dukes Dozers, and walked around Exploration Island where there are 20 life like dinosaurs (and no mosquitoes). Then we caught the end of story time with Princess Brooke and watch the divers practice at the Aqua Stadium. By this point it was more than 90 degrees and the kids were starting to wilt so each of the kids picked one more ride and we skipped Duke’s Lagoon to avoid a meltdown. We enjoyed the Merry-Go-Round even though it is much smaller than the one at Heritage Gardens and Dragon’s Lair so my son could “drive” a boat. Everyone except my daughter’s favorite ride was Double Splash Flume she thought it was scary. Dutch Wonderland is small making it a great park for young kids. If I was to visit again I would go on a cooler day. Looking for Places to Eat: Iron Hill Brewery is kid friendly and has a great well priced kids menu with lots of good options; both my kids had burgers, fries and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. I enjoyed a cheeseburger but the sweet potato fries were soggy so go for the regular fries (the few I snuck from the kids plates were good). Other people in the party said the pizza, red quinoa salad and the Triple Chocolate Hill were yummy. Commonwealth on Queen is good for both breakfast and lunch. They have a simple menu which includes vegan options. My son enjoyed the homemade belgian waffles and my daughter and I thought the vegan lemon olive oil dough nut was amazing.
