My son is super-active, but we struggle to make sure he gets enough water each day. Sometimes I feel like it’s a battle. I have to remind him to make sure he is drinking enough fluids and it can feel like nagging. So when we were recently offered a chance to check out this new interactive water bottle from Gululu in exchange for our honest review, we jumped at the chance.
I was intrigued right from the beginning. The Gululu is a 13.5-ounce smart water bottle for kids that comes in several colors. This fun water bottle, has a screen on it that features a tamagucci like pet, together they embark on an underwater adventures, helping its pet to get back to its lost Planet Ima. The gamification of the bottle and the new pet-friend encourages kids to drink water, while parents stay updated about their kids intake through the dedicated app! The creators obviously know their customer - the bottle is tough enough to survive the high level of activity it will inevitably see, and according to the website it can survive a three-foot drop. It’s made of BPA-free materials and complies with the FDA’s standards. Gululu was featured on main media publications such as Forbes that declared it as top 5 best kids gadgets, Vauge and others. Their mission is to hydrate the kids of the world- and for every bottle purchased a kid in a developing country is being provided with clean water well for life! through our partnership with Generosity.org organization. This is a great reason to LOVE this product!
The Gululu water bottle promotes healthy hydration using a virtual pet game. There is a small screen on the side of the bottle where your child interacts with a virtual pet (choice of 3) from the Gululu Universe. Once it arrived, I immediately hand-washed it (this is NOT dishwasher safe) and charged it while reading through all the directions and the story. We also downloaded the parent app to our phone and set up our daily water goals. The charging station that comes with the product utilizes a USB cord which you can plug into the computer or you can utilize an adaptor for a wall plug. I do wish it came with the adaptor piece; however, we have one for our cell phones so it wasn’t a huge deal.

The pets grow and explore for treasures when your kid hydrates regularly. Timely rewards are carefully given to encourage healthy habits to form. Plus more stories and adventures from the Gululu Universe also unfold and you begin to learn the back story. Kids can also play with each other. They can make their pets compare, compete, and play with each other. When two kids shake their bottles close together, their pets become friends. Friends can compare and compete with their habit scores.
The app where we did some initial setup also helps parents know how much their child is drinking and more. The app syncs with the Gululu water bottle over Wi-Fi and displays the amount of water consumed by your child in a day and in a week as measured by the bottle. It also tells you how much water your kid is drinking every two hours. Finally, it grades your child’s drinking habits.

Does your kid need encouragement to drink more water? If yes, then Gululu is an excellent solution. Gululu sells for normally for $147 on mygululu.com, which includes the Gululu water bottle, 2 replaceable drinking spouts, a store booklet, a set of reward stickers, a wireless charging dock, and a charging cable. Currently they have a special through Thursday night and you can get one for $79 which means You Save $68.00 or 46%

Some tax rules affect everyone who files a federal income tax return. With that in mind, here are seven facts about dependents and exemptions that taxpayers should know about.
1. Exemptions lower your income. There are two types of exemptions: personal exemptions and exemptions for dependents. You can usually deduct $4,050 for each exemption you claim on your tax return.
2. Personal exemptions. You can usually claim an exemption for yourself. If you're married and file a joint return you can also claim one for your spouse. If you file a separate return, you can claim an exemption for your spouse only if your spouse had no gross income, is not filing a return, and was not the dependent of another taxpayer.
3. Exemptions for dependents. You can usually claim an exemption for each of your dependents. A dependent is either your child or a relative that meets certain tests. You can't claim your spouse as a dependent. In addition, you must list the Social Security number of each dependent you claim. If you don't have a social security number, special rules apply.
4. Some people don't qualify. You generally may not claim married persons as dependents if they file a joint return with their spouse. Again, there are some exceptions to this rule, so please call your accountant if you have questions.
5. Dependents may have to file. People that you can claim as your dependent may have to file their own federal tax return. This depends on many things, including the amount of their income, their marital status and if they owe certain taxes.
6. No exemption on dependent's return. If you can claim a person as a dependent, that person can't claim a personal exemption on his or her own tax return. This is true even if you don't actually claim that person as a dependent on your tax return. The rule applies because you have the right to claim that person.
7. Exemption phase-out. The $4,050 per exemption is subject to income limits. This rule may reduce or eliminate the amount depending on your income. Please call if you need additional information about the exemption phase-out.

Thanksgiving and the holidays are my favorite time of year. I love getting together with my family and just enjoying time catching up, playing board games and enjoying some delicious food. The food is definitely one of the highlights because everyone is always trying their best recipes and old family favorites. The only thing I dislike about the holidays is all the pressure and stress of getting everything done and feeling like I would rather just sit down with the kids.
Sunday, I was invited to go visit Whole Foods in Hyannis to check out the Holiday Menu, sample some of it and see what I thought. I admit the ease of having the work already done for me plus no mess or time spent cleaning up certainly appeals to me plus the food was delicious! As a huge cheese fan, I was immediately drawn to the delicious looking baked brie with apple, cranberry and raisin on top. As soon as I tasted it I knew I had to have it for dinner this weekend! It comes frozen and all you have to do is pop it in the oven. I definitely will be adding this to my holiday meal shopping list and will unashamedly take full credit for making it myself to anyone who asks. It really is that good and perfect for an appetizer!

We moved on to sample some other delicious foods including green beans with crispy shallots, vegan roasted cauliflower, vegan lentil & mushroom stuffing and my personal favorite mashed potatoes rutabaga. I have no idea what rutabaga is or what it normally tastes like, but these mashed potatoes were the best I have ever had. I am responsible for the mashed potatoes this year and I am seriously contemplating ordering some and again passing off as my idea.

A few months ago, our family had the opportunity to check out Verizon GoPro Hero 5 Session in time for Back to School. We had some amazing adventures and fun with the camera and you can read our review here. More recently we had a chance again to take a GoPro Hero 5 Session with us on a parent only vacation in exchange for sharing what we thought about it. It was an amazing opportunity to record memories from vacation to share later with friends and family!

We were also given a rare chance to see a baby turtle release which as you can see from my video below I was able to catch up close with the GoPro. This was pretty amazing to see close up and the GoPro was super easy to get set up near them as they raced to the ocean! There were lots of other people with a GoPro at the resort however 99% of them had special cases for their cameras. Many of them were fascinated with the fact that the Verizon GoPro Hero 5 Session did not need one as it is waterproof up 33 feet!
