You may remember back in November when the Cape Cod Moms Blog featured a giveaway on the Baby Banana Brush that a lovely local mom named Laura won. Well now the banana is back (courtesy of the Baby Banana Brush company who sent us one to facilitate an honest review) and this little man wants to share his thoughts on his new brush with all his little friends!
When my little guy started to get multiple teeth, I was nervous about how I could convince a one year old to brush them every day like the doctor instructed me. I can barely get him to sit still some days, let alone stick something in his mouth and diligently clean his tiny teeth. One day, while shopping on Amazon, I received a recommendation telling me “your baby might like…” It was the baby banana toothbrush. I saw the great reviews and thought, “well what do I have to lose at that price?”
From the moment I showed him how to put the banana toothbrush in his mouth, he was hooked. The bright yellow color made it instantly recognizable and almost like a toy at first. The two handles are perfect for his little hands to hold and swish it around his mouth, like a pro. Now we brush our teeth together every day, another way he can be just like mommy. I would definitely recommend this toothbrush to other toddler moms who are looking for a fun way to introduce good hygiene habits to their little ones!
We have been offered a chance to team up with Baby Banana Brush to offer our Cape Cod Moms a giveaway! One lucky mom will receive a Baby Banana Brush toothbrush for their special Little! These toothbrushes are very popular and my nephew loves brushing his teeth because of them! Check out his review of his new favorite toothbrush here!

The Baby Banana Brush Story:
"A few years ago, my two-year-old grandson tripped and fell on his toothbrush as he was trying to brush his teeth. The traditional hard plastic toothbrush punctured the roof of his mouth and came within centimeters of entering his brain. As a mother of 8, I knew that this all-to-common occurrence of babies falling on hard toothbrushes should be preventable, but how? As these questions were on my mind, I discussed them with my daughter-in-law, who is a dental hygienist and with her insight the idea for a flexible infant toothbrush was born.
She taught me about the safety specifications we would need, such as a slight "C" shape to our brush. We brainstormed about ideas of fun things that might fit that "C" shape and came up with the Banana! I had some experience from previous products my company was developing with plastics and other materials. I consulted with several engineers and determined that 100% medical grade silicone would be the best material to serve our "flexible" needs.Next, I went to Taiwan - the silicone capital of the world - in 2004. There I met with the company that would eventually become our manufacturer. We had our toothbrush FDA registered, patented and tested with private labs. We knew we had created something unique - a flexible toothbrush and teether in one - which did not exist in the market at that time.
We launched our product at the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists Convention in Washington, D.C. May 2008. There was lots of excitement for the product at this convention, and we began selling our toothbrush in pediatric dental offices and baby boutique stores."
Dr. Flonta received her D.D.S. degree from New York University College of Dentistry, after being trained in her native Romania. Before joining Osterville Family Dental, she practiced dentistry in Romania, New York, Hyannis.
Dr. Flonta has been a Cape Cod summer resident and visitor since 2002. “I told my parents when I was about 6 years old that I wanted to live in the United States. My first time in the U.S. was here on Cape Cod as a student summer worker for a summer cottage cleaning service in Orleans. I arrived in Orleans in the evening and the next day was the 4th of July. I went to the parade on Main Street. It was quintessential summer on Cape Cod. That was it. I was hooked.”
She came to the Cape every summer after that, and in 2005 she returned to the United States for good with her husband Dan, a concert violinist. The Flontas and their toddler son recently became year-round Cape Cod residents – a goal they have shared since those early student days.
