1. Tell us about your business/non profit and how it benefits local families?
We help to make the special events in a person’s life truly memorable 2. Where is it located? East Sandwich, MA 3. What is your favorite thing about our community? We love the pride so many of us share in the place where we live. We year-round residents choose to be here because we love this island, and we deeply appreciate the beautiful aspects of our community. 4. How else do you get involved with the community? We have been active in supporting Special Olympics Cape Cod, PanMass, Cape Abilities and National MS Society 5. What do you think are the biggest challenges facing parents in our community? The ability for us to provide adequate employment and housing opportunities for our children once they graduate high school or college is an essential shortcoming the Cape needs to overcome. 6. What is your favorite memory or story over the years involving you and your business The very first project we installed was at a local children’s boutique. We set up the backdrop then waited inconspicuously to try and catch a reaction from a passer-by. The first child to see the rainbow colored wall was a little girl, perhaps 3 or 4. She spotted the wall, gasped, held her cheeks with her hands, and ran towards the colorful streamers at full speed! Her excitement told us we were on the right track- and we’ve been making smiles ever since. 7. What advice would you give parents and caregivers in our community? Be realistic about the opportunities our children have ahead of them, and support what’s best for them, rather than what we may want for them. “Follow the Child”- Maria Montessori 8. Do you have any specials, events, or anything else taking place this upcoming year that our parents should know about? Our official Launch Party is in the spring! Until then- we can’t wait to continue elevating events all over Cape Cod! It is a time in which nobody has to get up and speak about their loved one or how they are feeling etc. It is time to be together for a cause to know and believe it is okay to be someone who is grieving and to know you are not alone. We will all be a part of different activities throughout the day together at Camp Lyndon. Zumba, Drumming, swimming, mindfulness and snacks and lunch will be provided. Cant join us for our camp day?
