Edaville Family Theme Park![]()
1. Tell us about your business/non profit and how it benefits local families?
Edaville Family Theme Park loves to give back to the community in any way that we can. During November and December of 2017, we held a Canned Food Drive. Any park guest who brought in a canned good received 40% off their ticket, and their donation was used to aid “Shane Gives Thanks”, a local food pantry that helps families in need, especially during the holiday season. The same food pantry also aids local students enrolled in the “Peyton Pack Program”, sending weekend meals home with them. We also benefit local families by remaining affordable! We allow outside food to be brought into the park and offer many promotions and discounts throughout the year! 2. Where is it located? Edaville Family Theme Park is located in Carver, MA 3. What is your favorite part about our community? Our favorite part about our community is that they are always willing to help! In October we held a book drive for the children of the Houston Independent School District who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. When called into action to aid people in need, even out of state, over 2,000 children’s books came pouring in! We were blown away by the community’s response to help. It is only because of the community that these fundraisers are so successful. 4. How else do you get involved with the community? Throughout the year, we offer different promotions on specific days to honor members of the community because they do so much for us! As a salute to America’s bravest, all active military personnel including veterans receive free admission to the park on our Military Appreciation Weekends. On First Responder Appreciation Days, EMTs, doctors, nurses, firefighters and police officers are given 50% off full priced admission for helping to keep us safe. Other members of the community that get their own appreciation day discounts include: residents of surrounding towns, teachers, and kids who do well on their report cards and summer reading lists just to name a few! We love to give back as much as we can to thank these hard-working people! 5. What are the biggest challenges facing parents in our community? The biggest challenge facing parents in our community is being able to find places to go and things to do that are fun for the whole family. Edaville Family Theme Park’s goal is to ensure that everyone has a blast, no matter how old you are! We are proud to be a part of so many families’ memories and traditions because there are rides, attractions and events here that people of all ages can enjoy! 6. What is your favorite memory or story over the years involving you and your business? One of Edaville Family Theme Park’s favorite memories comes from a recent feature on Good Morning America in a segment about how amusement parks are welcoming children with autism. We were honored to appear on the show but even happier that we can offer autism friendly accommodations to embrace all families. We want everyone to feel included at Edaville!
7. What advice would you give parents and care givers in our community?
If Edaville Family Theme Park could give advice to parents and caregivers, it would be to create experiences and make memories with your children. Family togetherness has always been important to us, and there’s no better way to both teach your children and learn from them than spending time together! 8. Do you have any specials, events, or anything else taking place this upcoming year that our parents should know? Edaville Family Theme Park’s 2018 Grand Opening is April 7th! How does WE CAN benefit local families?
WE CAN is dedicated to empowering Cape women through our practical and unique services. We offer legal, financial, work support, mentoring, personal development, group support, and business growth services. WE CAN services are free and childcare reimbursement is available while women attend WE CAN programs in a wide range of Cape locations. Where is WE CAN located? WE CAN is located in Harwich Port and additionally offers our 1:1 services in Falmouth (at Falmouth Service Center) and Hyannis (at Cape Cod Child Development) through collaborations in the community served, as well as workshops in various Cape locations. What is WE CAN's favorite part of the community? WE CAN loves the special "sense of community" on the Upper Cape - a feeling that members have of belonging, a feeling that members matter to one another and to the group, and a shared belief that members' needs will be met through their shared commitment. How does WE CAN get involved? WE CAN offers both 1:1 appointments and workshops on the Upper Cape. Our PathMaker Mentoring Program operates from September through June at the Museums on the Green in Falmouth. Women are partnered with a mentor, they meet individually and as a group, attend a monthly personal development workshop, and set their own agenda as to what they plan to accomplish during their unique, supported experience. 1:1 monthly sessions include Financial Empowerment, Work Support, and Legal Consults. GROW is for women business owners who wish to grow their business and is hosted in Hyannis. There is an array of workshops offered Cape-wide. WE CAN also offers volunteer opportunities, including the Upper Cape Ambassador Program. What are the biggest challenges of parents today? Parents are very busy and need targeted, on-point services. WE CAN strives to provide practical tools which support independence in families working and living on Cape Cod. A favorite WE CAN story? One WE CAN PathMaker Program graduate from the Upper Cape, June, had begun a fashion business when she learned that her daughter had a medical issue that would require more attention over the next few years. Instead of putting the clothing design business on hold, she transitioned to create an accessories brand and business. This allowed her to care for her daughter, continue to be creative, and build a successful business. "Because of my experience at WE CAN, it wasn't a question of if I could. WE CAN helped me gain confidence that I didn't even know I was lacking." What advice would WE CAN give parents on the Upper Cape? Reach out to WE CAN to learn more about our offerings. 1. Tell us about your business/non profit and how it benefits local families?
Meryl's Music is all about families! Families making music together. Using the Music Together program we help children gain basic music competence (BMC) through experiential learning. Also, music learning supports all types of learning as well! Cognitive, physical, social and emotional learning all are encompassed in music learning. 2. Where is it located? We have locations in Eastham, Harwich, Sandwich, Pocasset and Plymouth 3. What is your favorite part about our community? I moved to the Cape in 2000 to start my family hear. I love the "small town" feeling of the Cape and I love the sense of community we have here. 4. How else do you get involved with the community? I love to go into local daycares, preschools and elementary schools to make music with the kids who might not otherwise have that opportunity. 5. What are the biggest challenges facing parents in our community? A lot of parents living on the Cape don't have family nearby to help with the children so families here tend to feel more isolated until they find a group to join or a program to take with thier child where they can meet other families in the same boat 6. What is your favorite memory or story over the years involving you and your business? I absolutely love watching children grow in my classes from tiny sleeping baby to full on toddler to preschooler and to watch their musicality grow as well. Hearing that one child who never does anything in class but watch (doesn't play the instruments or dance, etc) finaly start to sing out, or show off his dance moves in front of everyone. Those are my favorite moments in my classes. 7. What advice would you give parents and care givers in our community? Get involved! 8. Do you have any specials, events, or anything else taking place this upcoming year that our parents should know? Workout & listen to Andy Berler, Personal Trainer for the New England Patriots Cheerleaders & Founder of BMAX! This event will start with a quick introduction with Andy followed by a 29 minute workout. We will then sample some fine wine while Andy chat with us about how to fit this amazing workout into our everyday routine.
Its challenging enough to find time to run out just for coffee, never mind running out to grab a quick session at the gym. But what if you were able to accomplish your workout at home with guaranteed results?
BMAX (Berler Maximum Activation Xtreme) is a complete less than 29-minute full body fitness program that delivers the five critical health components of physical fitness in EVERY workout: CARDIO HEALTH, FLEXIBILITY, MUSCULAR STRENGTH, MUSCULAR ENDURANCE, AND BODY COMPOSITION!
Every BMAX workout starts with a three-minute dynamic warm up and is followed by the body of 18 exercises. You will perform each exercise for 40 seconds, followed by a recovery period of 30 seconds between each exercise. These 18 exercises are designed and organized to target the six primary muscle groups: chest, triceps, back, biceps, shoulders, and legs while activating every supporting muscle fiber throughout your body.
BMAX was created to bring a complete full-body fitness program to both the home and gym. BMAX requires no machines, delivers quick workouts, and provides amazing variety! My summer flew by and I had little opportunity to Blog. I spent most of my summer with my kids in Orleans taking part in the Rec swim lessons at the lake, going to library programs, spending time at the beach, crafting and doing summer reading. Now it is back to school for the kids; my daughter started first grade today and my son starts junior kindergarten on Thursday. It will take me most of September to organize and put the house back together again but with both kids in school I will have time. I am looking forward to going to The Drool Baby Expo next week! When as famished as a mud beggar, guests will enjoy the Faire's delicious spit-roasted turkey legs, buttery ears of corn, boules filled with chowder and stew, ringlets of fries, and quench their thirst with champagne, wine and brew. Shoppers can stroll through the 16th century village filled with the wares of more than 100 unique and talented artisans from near and far. At every turn, guests will encounter fantasy and wonder through minstrels, musicians, acrobats, stilt walkers, giant puppets, wenches, and more.

Rick, Jan and Snorkel the Trained Stunt Pig Show - new for this year featuring juggling, stunts and piggy humor - first four weekends only; Klass Klown brings fire juggling, ball balancing and high flying pogo stick stunts;
The Vodca Family musical dance and drumming show;
Gibbon the Troubadour and Hannah Rose on the fiddle; The Lord Sheriff Glenn Fieldenstream is back after a three year hiatus, ready to write tickets and summons laughter in “court”; And a new puppet: Jasper, King of the Rag Dolls!
Don’t miss beloved returning entertainers Draiku, a beautiful aerialist duo back for their third year; Great Cats of the World exotic cat show; Ses Carny’s The Torture Show; Daniel - Duke of Danger; the Washing Well Wenches; Jacques Ze Whipper; Bawdy Mud Beggars; and of course our brave and handsome knights jousting on horseback.
