​Our annual Cape Cod Fireworks & Parades listing is back!  Every year this POPULAR listing helps local and visiting families find where the 4th of July Fireworks and Parades are taking place.  Just check out our 2018 list to see all the past fun!

Below we have compiled a listing of all the fireworks, parades and other celebrations taking place across Cape Cod & the Islands.  The list is in alphabetic order by town and will list any parades, fireworks or other activities taking place.

Barnstable Parades
9 AM – Barnstable / West Barnstable – Don’t miss this 4th of July tradition. Big floats, small floats, bikes walkers, motorcycles and dogs are all included in this parade. It begins at the County Complex on Railroad Avenue at 9 a.m. and proceeds down Main Street (Route 6A), left onto Mill Way and continues to the Village Hollow where it will end with various activities.
10 AM – Centerville- Neighborhood floats, decorated bikes and wagons, clowns, and bands will flood the streets of Centerville in this fun, festive parade. The parade, which begins at 10 a.m., will be followed by food, fun, and field games at the ball field behind the Centerville Recreation Building. The parade will form on the grounds of Centerville Elementary School and proceed up Bay Lane, take a right onto Bumps River Road; left onto Park Avenue; right onto Main Street; and continue to the Centerville Recreation Building where it will end.
11 AM – Cotuit – The parade will begin at the Post Office, proceed down School Street to Main Street.  It will then turn left on Main Street to the rear of the entrance of the Cotuit Elementary School, where it will conclude.
11 AM – Hyannisport – Following the Hyannisport Beach Club 2k Run at 9 AM, the parade will lineup and begin at the Hyannisport Post Office on Longwood Avenue, turning left onto Washington Ave and right onto Lafayette Avenue.  Then it will turn left onto Winchester Ave, left onto Scudder and continue onto Dale Ave to the West Beach Club.  This is where it will end.
2 PM – Hyannis Inner Harbor Boat Parade – Hyannis Marina invites all to a July 4 boat parade at 2 p.m. The best viewing is along Ocean Street at Hyannis Harbor. If you are a boater and want to participate, the boats assemble off of Hyannis Yacht Club and head to the inner harbor to show off their red, white and blue.
4 PM – Hyannis Main Street Parade – The parade will start at the corner of Ocean Street and travel along Main Street for a half mile, ending at the corner of Sea Street.
5-7 PM – Enjoy family lawn games, free rides by the Roaming Railroad, jugglers and bubble fun on the Village Green in Hyannis beginning at 5 p.m. Nicholas Suchecki Jazz Quartet will perform. There will be pre-fireworks music and activities in Aselton Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks over Hyannis Harbor and Lewis Bay begin at 9 p.m. (Rain date for fireworks only is Saturday, Aug. 31.)
 
Barnstable / Hyannis Fireworks
6:30 PM – Concert Featuring Anna and the Moderns at Aselton Park.  Family friendly event.
9 PM – There will be music and activities in Aselton Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks over Hyannis Harbor begin at 9 p.m. (Rain date for fireworks only is Saturday, Aug. 31.) The best viewing spots are the beaches around Hyannis Harbor and on the West Yarmouth beaches along Lewis Bay. Pack a picnic basket for dinner and stake out your spot in late afternoon. Or have a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant, then walk to the beach for the fireworks show. (Don't forget your cover-up clothes. It gets chilly on the beach after sunset, even in July!)

​Bourne Parade
10 AM – Bourne on the Fourth of July Parade begins at 10 a.m., rain or shine, on Main Street in Buzzards Bay. This parade is put on each year with the help of volunteers, donations and Town support.
 
Chatham Parade
9:30 – 11:30 AM – Chatham’s Independence Day Parade, running from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Main Street, is one of the oldest in the United States. This year’s parade theme is “Chatham Honors You!  Service Members Past, Present, Future!” The theme honors all men and women who served the country in all wars, as well as those who serve during peacetime. 
 
 
Edgartown Parade and Fireworks
5 PM – Come view the Edgartown 4th of July parade and spectacular Edgartown Harbor fireworks. Enjoy delicious treats, sales at local shops, and so much more during this festive time in town! The parade begins at 5 p.m. on July 4 and the fireworks start at dusk on the harbor.
 
Falmouth Run
8:30am- RUN JACK RUN Family Fun Run/Walk on July 4thThis is our 8th Annual RUN JACK RUN Family Fun Run/Walk in honor and celebration of Jack Pearsall, our son, brother, grandson, cousin, friend, teammate, classmate. This event has grown and continues to bring such positive people and energy into our lives. **This year RJR has changed just slightly, it is still a one mile run/walk but will be held at the track surrounding Trotting Park Soccer Fields off of Gifford Street. It will start and end at Trotting Park. This year everything, including kid’s activities, facepaint, registration, and our annual scholarship awards, will all take place at Trotting Park Fields.

This 4th of July marks the 8 year anniversary of losing Jack after he was hit by a hit-and-run drunk driver in 2011. Spending this day together doing something Jack would love with friends, family and those who cared about him is the best way we've found to get through this day... come join us and take a stand against drunk driving.

Falmouth Parade
10 AM – The Bike & Carriage Parade begins at 10 a.m. from the Village Green, down Main Street to Peg Noonan Park.
 
Woods Hole Parade
Noon – This popular Fourth of July parade, organized by the Marine Biological Laboratory, begins at noon and proceeds down Water Street.
 
Falmouth Fireworks
8:45 PM – Fireworks begin at dusk on July 4 (rain date July 5) at Falmouth Heights Beach. Do you have a portable radio? Be sure to bring it with you, and tune to PIXY 103 (102.9 FM) to hear the music that accompanies the fireworks.

Date: July 1, 2019 (rain date July 2nd) 8:45 p.m. at Mashpee Middle/High School
The fun begin at 5 p.m. with a whole evening of food, rides, games, music, and activities for the entire family. Concerned about traffic and parking? Take a (free) shuttle ride from Old Barnstable Road to/from the festivities! 
 
Nantucket Parade
10 AM – The parade starts at 10 AM on Main Street, which culminates in the water fight between fire departments.  Children races and rug of war to begin at 5 PM.
 
Nantucket Fireworks
July 5th at 9 PM – Fireworks will begin at Jetties Beach. 
 
Orleans Fireworks DELAYED until July 7, 2019
8:30 AM – July 6th – Fireworks take place July 6 (rain date July 7) at Rock Harbor in Orleans. The fireworks start between 8:30 and 9:15 pm. You can watch from the other side of Rock Harbor which can be accessed at Dyer Prince Rd., Eastham, or Boat Meadow Landing, Eastham, which can be accessed from Bay View Rd. We suggest Crosby Beach or the Linnell Landing Beach in Brewster as other options for viewing the fireworks as well. Visit orleanscapecod.org/event/july-fourth-fireworks-orleans-ma/
 
Orleans Parade
Begins at 10 a.m. on Eldredge Park Way, goes along Rt. 6A, Main Street, Rt. 28 and back to Eldredge Park

Provincetown Parade
11 AM – July 4th Parade starts at 11a.m., begins East End, Harbor Hotel and proceeds up Commercial to Franklin Street.
 
Provincetown Fireworks
Dusk – Approximately 9 PM – Fireworks start at dusk over Provincetown Harbor (view from any Bayside Beach). Lots of fun! Fireworks will begin over Provincetown Harbor.  Get in early as it fills up fast. You’ll be seeing fireworks like these in no time! For a very special experience, watch the fireworks from onboard a ship in the Harbor. On July 4th, Dolphin Fleet offers whale watch plus fireworks cruises as well as a fireworks-only cruise. These cruises are very popular, so reserve your spot early. (Dolphin Fleet: 1-800-826-9300)
 
Sandwich Fireworks
9:30 PM – This special fireworks display is the culmination of a full day of activities in Sandwich that include a street parade, a boat parade, a 3-mile race and picnic. Fireworks scheduled for July 4 at 9:30 p.m. over Shawme Pond. Date is still tentative. There is also a boat parade at 9pm. The Sandwich Boat Parade has been around since the late 1800's! The Boat Parade is comprised of small boats and canoes decorated in creative ways using paper lanterns illuminated by candles. The boats parade by the bandstand for all to see, and for the Recreation Department and Recreation Committee to select the evening's winners.
 
Sandwich Parade
The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. at the Wing School on Water Street 
 
Wareham/Onset Fireworks DELAYED until July 7th!
July 6, 2019 (rain date July 7th) at Dusk at Onset Beach & Bay
The village of Onset is on the "mainland" side of the Cape Cod Canal, just over the bridge. It's an absolutely gorgeous little village, and well worth a visit!
 
Wellfleet Parade
9:30 AM – The Annual Wellfleet Fourth of July Parade route runs up Holbrook Avenue, turns right on Main Street, continues down Main Street, turns right on East Commercial Street and ends at the Wellfleet Town Pier. The Judge’s stand sits out on the lawn of the Town Hall on Main Street. The classic car parade begins at 9:30 a.m. and the float parade starts at 10 a.m. Participants assemble on the Town Pier to line up and meet the parade judges. The parade float winner will receive a grand prize trophy.

Hyannis Inner Harbor Boat Parade ~ 7/4/18  2pm Village Green, Main Street, Hyannis
The boats assemble and head to the inner harbor to show off their red, white and blue! Hosted by Hyannis Marina, best viewing is along Ocean Street at Hyannis Harbor around 2:00 PM.

Celebrate the Fourth of July with Edgartown’s traditional parade & fireworks. Enjoy the traditional late afternoon parade then head over to lawn of the Dr. Daniel Fisher house on Main Street for  burgers and hot dogs at the MV Preservation Trust’s annual BBQ.  Then claim your seat on Memorial Wharf or any other harbor front location for a resplendent display over the water. Display begins as darkness falls. Free and all are welcome. 

Falmouth

Nantucket
Activities:
7/4/18  The Department of Culture and Tourism will host the traditional Main Street activities on Wednesday, July 4thbeginning at 10:00 a.m. and culminating with the water fight between Town of Nantucket’s Fire Department and the Boynton Lane Reserves around NOON. Children’s Beach games (potato sack races, three legged races, wheel barrow races and tug-of-war) will begin at 5:00pm. The Balloon Wizard will be on the lawn. At 6:00pm, there will be music on the bandstand.

Fireworks
The Fireworks Display will be held on Thursday, July 5th at 9:00pm on Jetties Beach. Rain/ weather date is Friday, July 6th.

Onset-Wareham

Local Tip: The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a whole evening of food, rides, games, music, and lots more. Annual Mashpee Community Picnic & Fireworks will be held on Friday, June 30th at Mashpee High School beginning at 5PM. Rain date for the event will be Saturday, July 1st. Fun for all ages! Carnival style games, face painting, dunking tank, pony rides, toy race car tracks game and train rides! Food available for purchase will include: hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage/pepper/onions, BBQ sandwiches, chowder, popcorn, novelty & scooped ice cream, cotton candy, fried dough, cannolis and more!! K-9 Dog Demo by the Barnstable County Sheriff’s, children’s entertainer and DJ Danny Walsh. Fireworks begin around 9:15PM.​

Onset, MA

Parades on Saturday July 1

Pocasset: Salt Marsh Lane 4th of July Parade: 1 p.m., Barlows Landing Road, Pocasset. Parade starts from St. John’s Church in Pocasset and goes down Barlow’s Landing Road, through Salt Marsh Lane. Theme: “American Broadway Shows.” Residents and families of Salt Marsh Lane design floats, decorate bikes and themselves.


July 4th Day of Parades

​Bourne - Beginning at 10 a.m., along Main Street in Buzzards Bay

Edgartown - The parade begins at 5pm on July 4th. The Fireworks start at dusk on the harbor. See you there! Please visit http://www.edgartown-ma.us/ for more information about the Parade & Firework show.

Chatham - Chatham's parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m. and will proceed down Main Street and continue on Crowell Road to Tip Cart Drive

Edgartown: Martha’s Vineyard): 5 p.m., beginning at the intersection of West Tisbury Road and Pinehurst Road, taking a right onto Main Street, a left onto Pease’s Point Way next to the monument, then a right onto Morse Street, a left onto Fuller Street, a right onto Thayer Street, right onto North Water Street, right onto Main Street, left back onto West Tisbury Road, ending at the Edgartown School, 35 Robinson Road.

The Sandwich Boat Parade has been around since the late 1800's! The Boat Parade is comprised of small boats and canoes decorated in creative ways using paper lanterns illuminated by candles. The boats parade by the bandstand for all to see, and for the Recreation Department and Recreation Committee to select the evening's winners.

Wellfleet: 8:30 a.m., 5-mile adult fun run; 10 a.m., 1.2-mile children’s fun run with prizes given to all. Adult course beginning at Mayo Beach parking lot, Kendrick Ave., run along Wellfleet Harbor to Sunset Hill and back. Children’s course from Mayo Beach parking lot to Chequesset Neck Road and back. Children 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Sandwich: 8:30 a.m., 3-mile road race and fun run behind the Henry T. Wing School, 33 Water St. 11:30 a.m. egg toss, followed by a picnic in the park and music by Brian Sances Band at noon to 2 p.m. at the Henry T. Wing School. 1 p.m. water games and “THE FOAM” foamy water from the Sandwich Fire Department. At 7:30 p.m., Dale and the Duds will perform “oldies but goodies” at Shawme Pond Bandstand behind Town Hall on Route 130. At 9 p.m. there will be a boat parade behind the bandstand featuring small boats decorated with paper lanterns and candles.
Falmouth: 9 a.m., 6th Annual Run Jack Run Family Fun Run/Walk beginning at Falmouth High School boys’ soccer fields, continuing down Gifford Street, ending at Trotting Park soccer fields. FHS a capella group Soulfege will sing the national anthem before the race.
Hyannisport: 9 a.m., Beach Club 2K Run at the Hyannisport Post Office, 44 Longwood Ave.
Nantucket: 9 a.m., annual reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, 11 Orange St. There will be a patriotic sing-along with Bob and Diane Lehman and the Meeting House Community Chorus. Children can sign a replica of the Declaration of Independence and “ring” in the Fourth of July on the 1815 Portuguese bell in the Meeting House tower. 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., there will be events on Main Street, including a dunk tank, a watermelon-eating contest, face-painting, a pie-eating contest, bike decorating, Matt Fee Tea Toss, a puppet show, and Uncle Sam bean toss. 5 p.m., Independence Day games for families at Children’s Beach off Harbor View Way. Activities include a tug-o-war, three-legged races, and sack races.
Chatham: 11 a.m., Strawberry Festival at the First United Methodist Church for strawberry shortcake and lunch, 16 Cross St.
Yarmouth: 11 a.m. to noon. Historical Society of Old Yarmouth annual Fourth of July picnic, Kelley Chapel Meadows. Free for members and guests.
Provincetown: 3 to 10 p.m.,  first “Monumental 4th of July Picnic” on the grounds of the Pilgrim Monument, 1 High Pole Road, Provincetown. Visitors can enjoy food from Mac’s Seafood with a choice of lobster roll or fried chicken, both with sides and desserts and includes access to the cash bar. Fireworks to follow. Tickets: $45 for adults, $15 for children. Tickets and parking can be reserved online at pilgrim-monument.org.
Hyannis: 3:15 to 4 p.m., “Decorate your Bike, Carriage, or Wagon Contest” at the Hyannis Village Green on Main Street for children up to age 12; decorated “vehicles” can join in the parade for a ride down Main Street. Riders must wear helmets, and parents are welcome to accompany their children. Register at 3 p.m. Town of Barnstable Band will play patriotic songs from 5 to 6:30 p.m at the Village Green. Funktapuss will perform 7 p.m. at Aselton Park, 250 South St. (See Parades above)

Also in Sandwich: Boat Parade-at Shawme Pond at 9pm. The Sandwich Boat Parade has been around since the late 1800's! The Boat Parade is comprised of small boats and canoes decorated in creative ways using paper lanterns illuminated by candles. The boats parade by the bandstand for all to see, and for the Recreation Department and Recreation Committee to select the evening's winners. Want to take part in the parade? It gets chilly on the beach after sunset, even in July.)

Mashpee, MA
ORGINALLY: June 30, 2013 - Mashpee's 12th annual Community Picnic and Fireworks
celebration has been rescheduled for Aug. 20 at 5 p.m. after multiple weather-related delays. Rainy weather has put a damper on the town's celebration two weeks in a row. After first being scheduled July 1 with a July 2 raindate, storms resulted in the event being rescheduled for July 9 with a July 10 raindate. Stormy weather then further delayed the annual event until it was rescheduled for Aug. 20.

Best Night of the Year Fireworks ~ Willowbend Country Club, 130 Willowbend Drive, Mashpee
14th annual Cape and Islands United Way "Best Night of the Year" is one of Cape Cod's premier charity auctions. Proceeds from the event benefit more than 30 direct service programs at local non-profit agencies working to improve the quality of life of thousands in need on Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha's
Vineyard. The "Best Night of the Year" concludes with  a spectacular private fireworks display donated each year by Atlas Pyrovision Start time is approximate.

Tip: Get there early as the roads close into Falmouth Heights.  Do you have a portable radio? Be sure to bring it with you, and tune to 92.7 WMVY to hear the music that accompanies the fireworks. There will be a special tribute song to local Fireworks Supporter Patrick Grant this year! There is also a LOT of traffic after, so come packed with patience while leaving town after.  The 2013 Fireworks are scheduled for Thursday July 4, starting at about 8:45 PM.As in years past, traffic will be restricted from entering the Falmouth Heights area at 6 pm. The Falmouth Police have released the following information for traffic leaving after the display. Press Release Handicapped parking will be on a first come first serve basis with parking also at Bristol and Surf Drive beaches.  The Falmouth Fireworks Display is a non-alcoholic event, and all laws governing the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages will be enforced.
