Jet Gift Basket Surprise By: Amy Remember the movie Groundhog Day? Does anyone else feel like they are living it? Wake up, do laundry, wipe surfaces, setup remote learning, make breakfast, struggle through everything else until bedtime and then REPEAT. And then repeat again and again and again... it kind of makes me want to cry some days. And then just as I was examining my dried out hands as I finished the dishes on day 45 there was a special delivery courtesy of Jet Gift Baskets. It definitely brought some excitement to my day to unwrap and see what treat was in store. To my surprise it was a Mini Burts Bees Relaxation basket which was perfect due to the contents. Could the universe actually here my thoughts as I had lamented over my cuticles earlier? During the stay at home order, with all the hand washing and cleaning I have been doing, my hands and cuticles have been taking a beating. This basket came with everything I needed to treat my hands to a mini spa. From various hand cream, cuticle cream, foot cream and even lip balm I treated my poor over worked and majorly suffering hands to a vacation. They even included a little hand towel and everything is sized to take it with you (not that I am going anywhere) or even tote it around in what I now call my house purse with all my necessary daily items I need. In the spirit of #attitudeofgratitude we will be paying it forward to another local parent friend with their own surprise Jet Gift Basket just in time for Mother's Day! ![]() Amy is the founder of the Cape cod Moms blog, a member of the Parent Podcast Team and working mom of two children, Ethan & Olivia, both members of the Cape Kids Cast team. Cape Cod Bear Factory![]() 1. Tell us about your business/non profit and how it benefits local families? Cape Cod Bear Factory travels the Cape in our completely renovated Bear Bus stuffing animals and creating memories with children and adults alike. We come to you for Birthday Parties, Fundraisers and Special Events. Operating all year round, we offer a fun Birthday experience for Cape Cod Families. 2. Where is it located? We are based out of Centerville but with our mobility, we can travel and serve the entire Cape and beyond! 3. What is your favorite thing about our community? My favorite thing about the Cape Cod community is its passion, excitement and support for local business. We have been blessed to meet some amazing families and fellow business owners all who invest themselves by reaching out, sharing our story and encouraging our dreams and ambitions as we push towards the newest branch of our business. 4. How else do you get involved with the community? The Cape Cod Bear Factory has had the opportunity to partner with some amazing community resources to help raise funds, including the Osterville Village Library and the March of Dimes. We offer fun activities for children at community events and have some BIG announcements coming that will enhance the community in a large way! 5. What do you think are the biggest challenges facing parents in our community? As a homeschooling mom of a 4 and 5 year old, I think the biggest challenge is providing fun/playbased learning experiences for our children on Cape Cod. 6. What is your favorite memory or story over the years involving you and your business? My favorite business memory comes from Pajama Nights at Polar Cave Ice Cream. On one specific Friday night, we showed up early to accommodate a very special, and our very first, wheelchair customer. When we purchased our bus, having a wheelchair lift and being able to offer fun memories to children of all abilities was a top priority. The entire experience with this sweet customer of ours will be with me forever. With the help of her mother and me, she stuffed a new cow as her father, grandmother and home-health-aid watched on, all with the biggest smiles on their faces. Tears of happiness were shed by all and it was by far the most fulfilling experience we have ever had aboard the Bear Bus. 7. What advice would you give parents and caregivers in our community? My advice to parents and caregivers is to let your children take the lead, follow their interests and use every day experiences to teach and inspire your children. Focus on making memories and always try to leave one day a week open for them to stay home and play/use their imagination. 8. Do you have any specials, events, or anything else taking place this upcoming year that our parents should know about? The Bear Factory has a few events coming that we can’t wait to be a part of. Find all of our events at facebook.com/ccbearfactory
![]() Canvas Factory Turns Photographs Into Great Gifts By: Sarah R “Say cheese!” Like many other parents, I am always trying to capture the precious moments with my young son. Where I struggle is finding the best way to display my photographs beyond my smartphone and computer screen. I am often overwhelmed by all the photo gift websites with their near-constant emails, difficult to navigate websites, and sub-par quality products. Therefore, when I looked at the Canvas Factory web site (http://www.canvasfactory.com/ if you are from USA and http://www.canvasfactory.com/ca if you are from Canada), I was impressed by its clean graphics, the easy to navigate photo tools, and quick check-out process. My son and I worked together to select a photo memory that he wanted to display on a canvas in his “big boy” bedroom. This very special photo shows us spraying my husband with a fire hose after his last military flight, a once in a lifetime honored tradition in his unit. The site provides a variety of sizes, shapes, and styles to fit the photo you select. I decided to lighten the photo as it appeared a little dark on my computer screen. One of my favorite options was selected what the sides of the canvas would look like – you can wrap the photograph around the sides, you can mirror the boundaries of the photo, or the tool can help you pick the “best match” color based on your photograph. I chose the latter and appreciated that I did not have to “eyeball” the correct shade of sky blue! A few clicks and we were ready to check out. This process was super easy as well. I do a lot of online shopping and can get frustrated at the seemingly never-ending check out process. One area of improvement is the communication of production and shipping times. It was not apparent to me when I checked out how long it would take until the canvas arrived. I received a confirmation and shipping email which provided this information, but I think users would benefit from a more prominent reminder prior to check out. When I received the package, my son and I opened excitedly together. The canvas itself is a good quality and nicer than others I have ordered in the past. My husband commented that he liked how they framed the back of it in black instead of leaving it open (and susceptible to damage). The vividness of the colors also stood out and made me regret lightening the photo based on the computer screen image. Lesson learned for the next one I order from the Canvas Factory, which will be soon since my son is now obsessed with decorating his other walls! The pricing does seem a little higher than other sites; however, I am so happy with the quality of the product that I think Canvas Factory will be my new “go to” site for transforming my digital images into great visuals for our home or for gifts. ![]() Sarah grew up on Cape Cod and currently splits her time between Cotuit and Charlestown with her husband and son. Sarah enjoys finding fun new activities for her family to enjoy as well as summers spent on the beach and boat. Sarah went back to school a few years ago earning her M.B.A. from Boston University. She is knowledgeable and savvy regarding family friendly activities and reviews in and around the city of Boston. Giveaway: |
Package from Santa Will Have Your Child Believing! By: Amy Christmas is my favorite time of year and now that I have children I love it even more. Now that my oldest is 7 I know it is only a matter of time before the magic of Santa is gone. This year we were offered an opportunity via US Family Guide and Package from Santa to have a special package sent to one of the kids in exchange for our honest review. |
We were able to check out the Silver Package which consists of a personalized phone call from Santa, a personalized video from Santa, a letter & autograph from Rudolph, a nice list certificate, an autographed picture of Santa, and a personalized letter from Santa Claus. We also decided to add one of the collector pieces of Santa’s suit. |

The package upon arrival was festive and even had an official North Pole stamp. My son delightedly tore into his package and his eyes lit up immediately. He just could not believe that Santa had sent him a personal package! He was most excited by the special piece of Santa’s suit that he received and keeps it with him at all times. After reading our personalized letter, which I setup up easily using their website, my son exclaimed: “He really is real,” over and over again! Santa even mentioned his sister and cousin by name in the letter and knew he loved building snow forts and eating Kit-Kats.

We also received a personalized call from Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as a personalized video message from Santa and one of his elves. My son was beyond excited to get these special phone calls on top of his special letter. The calls and video are saved within the website and the app so that they can be played again. You also have other options with all these packages to add on additional things to help make it more magical for your child.

In my opinion the Package from Santa was definitely worth doing and we will be doing it again next year with both kids. It really is a perfect gift to help enhance the holiday and for an affordable price! For our family it helped get us another year of Christmas Santa magic and to me that is priceless!

Mother’s Day is approaching and it can be hard to find that perfect gift to give to mom. A few weeks ago we reached out to our moms and asked what they would love to receive for Mother’s Day. Since we love shopping local in order to support our community, all the gifts are can be purchased from local businesses on Cape Cod. Enjoy our list and if you stop in and purchase something from our list that local moms recommended be sure to tell them where you saw it!

Moms always appreciate a little something new and sparkly and we have just the suggestion. We are obsessed with some of the gorgeous new jewelry from Hannoush Jewelers of Cape Cod. The new custom Cape Cod Moments line designed by owner, Mustapha Akkawi is just stunning and one of the hottest gifts around right now. The line consists of necklaces and bracelets and the charms are interchangeable so you can wear whichever one you choose. There are a few new charms that were just realized including the Family Tree Charm and it is at the top of our list for Mother’s Day gifts.
If you are down in the lower Cape region, some moms also recommended stopping by Stephen Gallant Jewelers for some pieces that are sure to bring a smile to mom’s face.

Moms love photos and we especially love receiving photos from our kids and family. If you are looking to do a simple gift that will make mom happy, then we recommend taking a photo you love and framing it up for your mom!
If you haven’t had recent photos taken then photo sessions would be a great idea for mom. No one loves sharing and enjoying pictures of the family more than mom. When our local moms were asked they said they would love to receive a gift certificate to Fleeting Moments Photography, Danielle Ryder Photography, or Emily Renaud Photography.

Moms are always on the go and we never really get enough time to just sit back and relax. So it was no surprise when our moms stated overwhelmingly that they would love a massage as a gift for Mother’s Day. Their favorite places and people to get massages from include: Mark at Falmouth Massage, Janice at Waves of Therapeutic Touch, Cape Cod Massage, and a Massage, spray tan and red light therapy at You Are My Sunshine Tanning Salon

There were lots of suggestions from the moms with some fun different types of gifts that mom would appreciate. One gift for mothers of new or young children would be a Tula or LilleBaby baby carrier from Mommy & Me Natural Parenting Boutique. Bonus tip: this business is a participating Cape Cod Moms ShopLocal Club business which means you can enjoy a discount when shopping here if you are a member.

Some other ideas included something fun and nautical from Sativa or Three Buoys, or even a custom sign from On Cape Time or A Piece Of Sandwich by Kelly Clark Poti
It can be hard to find time for mom to have a nice quiet hair cut, style or an beauty services done. That is why gift certificates to some of the places our moms suggested are sure to make mom smile! HAIR Affinity was recommended for their amazing beauty services and a Facial at Eden Day Spa, in Osterville was also highly recommended!

Lastly, experiences and the gift of your time can be a great gift idea for mom too! Our moms suggested renting out electric bikes in Dennis Village at Pedego Cape Cod, enjoying a delicious breakfast or lunch at Pickle Jar Kitchen, The Underground Bakery in Dennis Village or Harvest Gallery Wine Bar.
We hope you found our Mother’s Day Gift Guide helpful. All of the suggestions we listed came directly from what local moms stated they would love to get. We hope you enjoy Mother’s Day and we know no matter what you will find something to make mom smile!

We were recently sent a 3DLightFX of our choice in exchange for an honest review and it did not disappoint.
The Tiny One is obsessed with Star Wars and of course had to have the Millennium Falcon one set up in his room so that he could fall asleep imagining riding shotgun in it with Han Solo and Chewbacca each night! These 3DLightFX's make a perfect nightlight for the kids and there are so many to choose from. The install was quite easy with the exception of the sticker part. We wish the sticker was a one piece solid sticker as opposed to multiple pieces. The rest of the install went very easily and the Tiny One was just over the moon once we turned off the lights and turned it on. These 3DLightFX's make a perfect gift for birthday or for Christmas which is soon to arrive. Order yours today and choose from a variety of options which your child is sure to love!
