My Family’s First Trip to King Richard’s Faire
Last weekend my family made our very first trip to King Richard’s Faire.
Here a a few photos from our day in Carvershire.
The side shows...
My kids’ favorite, the jousting...
A few things to keep in mind:
*Tickets get you in the door. You can see the shows (and performers will ask for tips at the end), but food and rides cost extra. Remember to bring extra money if you are interested in the rides, food, or items from the various artisans and gift shops.
*The gates open at 10:30am and close at 6pm.
*The side shows contain innuendos and coarse joking. We left one of the shows within a couple minutes of sitting down. Everyone has different opinions when it comes to this type of entertainment, but I didn’t find it to be appropriate for our family. Just something to keep in mind as you walk around with your kids.
*The jousting is highly entertaining, and my kids definitely found it to be their favorite part of the day. The day ends with a “joust to the death”. Characters act out these scenes in way that I found my kids could handle, but again, consider your kids and their sensitivities as you plan your day.
